Urgent Care Q&A
Physical exams are crucial for maintaining your health at every stage of life. We provide comprehensive physical exams tailored to individuals of all ages, from infancy to adulthood. Our services cover a range of needs including infant care, well-child exams, women’s health exams, and men’s health exams. We also offer specialized physical exams such as sports physicals and school physicals to address specific health requirements.
Our dedicated team conducts thorough evaluations, disease screenings, and provides treatments when necessary to ensure your well-being. Whether it’s for work, school, or sports participation, our personalized approach to physical exams is designed to meet your individual needs. We encourage regular checkups with your primary care practitioner at least once a year to maintain your health and address any potential medical concerns proactively.
The specific parts of your physical exam depend on a few individual factors, particularly the goal of the exam. In general, physical exams usually include:
- Medical history
- Checking blood pressure and other vital signs
- Physical exam to assess your overall health
- Screening tests for cancer and other conditions (based on age and risk factors)
- In-house lab testing to check for diabetes, high cholesterol, and other health problems
- Yearly immunizations, like the flu shot
- As-needed vaccinations based on age, risk factors, and previous vaccinations
- Medication refills
If you have a chronic condition like diabetes, asthma, or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), your physical exam includes a review of your health regarding that specific condition along with an evaluation of your current treatment plan.
You might need to add or change medications or make some other treatment changes during the exam.
If you have two or more chronic conditions and are enrolled in Medicare, your physical exam also includes a review of your chronic care management program. This program gives you specific medical care, such as nutrition services and medication management, on a more frequent basis to help you stay well.
The frequency of physical exams depends on factors like your overall health, age, and disease risk factors. Most patients have physical exams once a year, and if you’re in good overall health, that timeline may be ideal. CareX can recommend an exam schedule for your circumstances and health needs.
Schedule physical exams when you’re feeling well, and CareX can help you stay that way. To book your physical exam, call either office or schedule an appointment online.
